Meet Our Volunteer Team

Our Specific Phobia of Vomiting research study is a group effort. In addition to the principal researcher, other clinicians and assistants provide expertise and support.

Clinicians

Cynthia ChapmanDr. Cynthia Chapman, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist and private practice therapist in Carlsbad, California, specializing in overcoming anxiety, relieving depression, habit control, life transitions, and relationship resolution using cognitive behavioral therapy. Cynthia has experience with all age groups, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy.

Frank OgleDr. Frank Ogle, PhD, LMFT has worked in the mental health field for 15 years, at a psychiatric crisis center and the past six years in private practice, and most recently working with seniors in an outpatient setting. In addition to his counseling work, he enjoys teaching as an adjunct professor at Argosy University San Diego and Azusa Pacific University, for the Marriage and Family Therapist masters programs and psychology doctoral programs.

Donna RoskoDr. Donna Rosko, PsyD. is a clinical psychologist, and owner and founder of Lifespan Psychological Services in Mission Valley. She has clinical experience working with both children and adults, as well as couples and families. Dr. Rosko is also an Adjunct professor at Argosy University. Dr. Rosko’s interests focus around anxiety disorders, phobias, and most recently the psychological ramifications of living with a chronic illness. She has done research in the area of infidelity, specifically on how the internet and social media can affect relationships.

Principal Researcher

Lori Riddle-Walker MFT, Escondido CaliforniaDr. Lori Riddle-Walker, EdD has been a private-practice clinician in the San Diego area specializing in the obsessive compulsive spectrum of disorders for more than 10 years.

Lori began treating specific phobia of vomiting due to the frequency of its co-occurrence with obsessive compulsive disorder and related anxiety disorders.

Intern

Pete MaceachernPete Maceachern is an undergraduate psychology student at Palomar College, San Marcos, California.

Pete is leading our on-the-ground recruitment effort for the study. He is also managing the data entry of research data.

Project Assistant

Lana Walker is a communications consultant who works with professionals in a variety of fields, including health and wellness. She is the owner of Talking Feather Communications.

Study Consultant

Dr. David Veale, FRCPsych, MPhil, BSc, MD is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust and The Priory Hospital North London. Dr. Veale specializes in obsessive compulsive disorder, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), health anxiety, depression, and specific phobia of vomiting (emetophobia). Visit his site here.
